MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017936 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'convertible furniture.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A convertible furniture comprises of, a rectangular frame 1 arranged with plurality of rods 2 initially positioned in proximity to each other, a microphone 3 to give voice commands, a pair of motorized sliders 4 for translating rods 2 away from each other to allow the user in hanging clothes over the rods 2, a speaker 4 for notifying the user to engage a C-shaped extendable member 5, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 for detecting dimensions of fixed surface, an extendable plate 7 arranged with the frame 1 via a primary motorized hinge 8 and configured with multiple suction cups for adhering the ground surface to provide support to the frame 1 on the ground surface, and a secondary motorized hinge 10 configured on the frame 1 for tilting the plate 7 away from frame 1."
