MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441033060 A) filed by K. Ramakrishnan College Of Technology, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, on April 26, 2024, for 'cooler mouse.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. T. R. Abisheka Priyan; Mr. M. Dinesh; Mr. S. Keerthick Kumar; Mr. S. Aadamkani; and Ms. S. Geerthana.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention proposes the design and implementation of a novel computer mouse equipped with an integrated air ventilation system. The aim is to enhance user comfort and prevent overheating during prolonged usage by efficiently dissipating heat generated within the mouse casing. The proposed mouse incorporates strategically positioned air vents and a miniaturized fan mechanism to facilitate the circulation of air around internal components, ensuring effective heat dissipation without compromising the ergonomic design or functionality of the device. The design considerations include optimising airflow patterns, minimising noise levels, and maintaining user comfort. The proposed ventilation system is evaluated through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and experimental testing to assess its thermal performance, airflow distribution, and impact on user experience. Results demonstrate improved thermal management capabilities, reduced temperature build-up, and enhanced user comfort compared to conventional mice. The proposed mouse with an integrated air ventilation system offers a promising solution to address heat-related issues encountered during prolonged usage, providing a more comfortable and efficient computing experience for users. Future research directions may focus on further optimization of the ventilation system, integration with smart monitoring and control features, and exploring potential applications in other ergonomic devices."
