MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517057761 A) filed by Nof Corporation, Tokyo, on June 16, for 'copolymer, and composition for eyes.'

Inventor(s) include Sasaki, Ayano; Kawasaki, Hiroko; and Iwakiri, Norio.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a copolymer that can remain on the cornea or contact lens surface for a long time, maintaining water retention and lubricity for a long time. The present invention pertains to a copolymer containing a structural unit derived from a monomer (a) of formula (1a) or a salt thereof and from a monomer (b) of formula (1b) or (2b), and having an Mw of 10,000-2,000,000, wherein the molar ratio na:nb is 10:90 to 70:309. ?Formula 1?
