MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011172 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'corn cob stripping assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Praveen Priyaranjan Nayak.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A corn cob stripping assistive device, comprising a donut shaped body 101 constructed with a pair of curved circular plates, a microphone 103 to provide input voice commands to strip corn cob, an imaging unit 104 to determine dimensions of corn cob, a motorized U-shaped clamp 105 via a linear actuator 106 to extend/retract for positioning clamp 105 on cob's upper portion, a blade 107 via a motorized hinge joint 108 to tilt blade 107 at an optimum angle, a circular slider 109 in between blade 107 and inner periphery to translate blade 107 along peripheral portion of cob, an opening 110 for allowing separated corn kernels to get collected in body 101, a motorized hinge 111 installed on outer periphery of body 101 to provide converging/diverging movement to a flap 112 linked with hinge 111, for getting opened/closed to allow user to collect collected kernels."
