MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019329 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'cotton flower collection assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Chandra Mohan Singh; and Dr. Sriom.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cotton flower collection assistive device, comprises of an L-shaped hollow body 1 attached with a handle 2 that is gripped by a user for handling body 1 in an agricultural field grown with cotton plant, a camera 3 to detect exact location of cotton flowers, a holographic projection unit 5 to guide the user for moving body 1 over flowers, a motorized cutter 6 configured with an L-shaped shaft 7 to cut the flowers, a suction unit to create suction pressure for withdrawing cut flower which is collected within a chamber, an SPR sensor to detect presence of pest on the flower, a speaker 8 to notify the user to discard the flower, an infrared counted positioned within the chamber to count number of flowers within the chamber and an alert is sent to a computing unit of user to collect flowers from the chamber."
