MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321080624 A) filed by Amkcorp Research Technologies Private Limited, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Nov. 28, 2023, for 'custom shaped flexible solar panels with epoxy (resin) coatingfor curved surfaces.'

Inventor(s) include Amit Kumar Kushwaha; and Mitali Kushwaha.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a custom shaped flexible solar panel with epoxy (resin) coating for curved surfaces 101, 102 & 103. The said flexible solar panel made by converting the 3D surface of individual cowl/panel (curve) into a 2D surface using simulation process. The said flexible panels of present invention are to be printed with these custom shapes in 2D and then on folding they acquire the shape of panel in 3D. The present invention provides a protective coating for the flexible panels, epoxy resins are applied and hardened using the cavity pouring method, this creates a custom-shaped 3D panel that can be assembled in the vehicle body. Once the epoxy has solidified, the moulds are opened, revealing a custom-shaped 3D panel, which can be assembled in a vehicle body. The above processes are repeated for each unique shape found in the vehicle body to produce panels of varying shapes and sizes with interconnectivity provisions. While assembling said solar panels connect all individual flexible solar panels to a single unit in a way that combines their individual electrical output and directs it to the battery for charging."
