MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056428 A) filed by Iscar Ltd., Tefen, Israel, on June 12, for 'cutting insert having two forwardly converging abutment surfaces, insert holder and cutting tool.'

Inventor(s) include Athad, Shimon.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cutting insert (122, 22) includes opposing insert first and second side surfaces (28). The insert first side surface (28) includes a first mounting arrangement. The first mounting arrangement includes a) at least one first side abutment surface (56) facing away from the insert second side surface (30), b) a first stopper abutment surface (58) oriented transversely to the at least one first side abutment surface (56) and c) two opposite-facing first wedge abutment surfaces (60) oriented transversely to the at least one first side abutment surface (56) and converging forwardly. An insert holder (24) has a corresponding pocket mounting arrangement for engagement with the first mounting arrangement."
