MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517059796 A) filed by Ustav Organicke Chemie A Biochemie AV CR V. V. I., Praha, Czech Republic, on June 23, for 'cyclen based compounds and their gd(iii) complexes for use as multimodal pet/mri contrast agents.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the use of cyclen based compound of general formula (I) wherein R is NO2 or F; A is independently selected from -CH2COOH; -CH(CH3)COOH;; -CH((CH2)nCH3)COOH, wherein n is an integer in the range of from 1 to 3; and -CH2P(=O)(OH)Ph; Z is H or A; for preparation of a multimodal PET/MRI contrast agents. The invention also relates to Gd(III) complexes of compound of general formula (I), wherein R is 18F, as multimodal PET/MRI contrast agents."
