MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517055617 A) filed by Merck Sharp & Dohme Llc, Rahway, U.S.A., on June 9, for 'cyclic peptides as pet imaging agents of granzyme b.'

Inventor(s) include Bennacef, Idriss; Nayak, Tapan, K; Schubert, Jeffrey, William; Shipe, William, D; Orvieto, Federica; and Piacenti, Valerio.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are cyclic peptides, their salts, pharmaceutical compositions comprising them, diagnostic and therapeutic uses and processes for making such compounds, which bind to granzyme B and may be suitable for imaging granzyme B. Further provided are compounds useful as a radiotracer for positron emission tomography (PET) and/or single photon emission tomography (SPECT) imaging. The use of the compounds as imaging agents of granzyme B is further disclosed."
