MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010389 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'damage mitigation system for floods.'

Inventor(s) include Abhay Rawat; Monika Gosain; and Saumya Rajvanshi.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A damage mitigation system for floods, comprises of plurality of L-shaped extendable platforms 1 positioned at bank of a waterbody around surface, a user-interface installed within a computing unit accessed by a user to provide input regarding dimensions an area to be protected, a holographic projection unit 2 to guide the user in arranging the platform 1 properly, a suction unit paired with multiple suction cups 3 to adhere the platforms 1, an imaging unit 4 to detect height of waves, plurality of extendable plates 5 configured with multiple motorized sliders to extend and prevent passing of water from/between the platforms 1 and a motorized door 6 to open and allow passage of small amount of water through the platforms 1."
