MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012463 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'date seed removal device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A date seed removal device, comprising a platform 1 attached with a chamber 4 for storing multiple dates, a touch interactive display panel 5 mapped on platform 1 for enabling user to input details regarding number of dates, a robotic gripper 6 withdraws and inserts dates inside a cylindrical unit 7 arranged on platform 1 via an inlet which is detected by a laser sensor mapped inside cylindrical unit 7, multiple telescopic pushers 9 arranged inside cylindrical unit 7 for securing dates, a telescopic pin 10 suspended from ceiling of cylindrical unit 7 for extending to extrude seed from dates which comes out via an outlet and collected in a waste container 11 arranged underneath cylindrical unit 7, a weight sensor installed inside container 11 for detecting weight of collected seeds and a speaker 8 notifies user for discarding of collected seeds."
