Inventor(s) include Dr. Prashant Sen; Dr. Anil Pimpalapure; Dr. Ram Dulare Nirala; Dr. S. Mahalakshmi; Dr. Ashish Kumar Khare; Mr. Sourabh Jain; Shaik Javeed; Dr. Tanveer Akhtar Khan; and Dr. Pragati Kiran Naagar.
The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a decentralized, autonomous system for managing supply chain operations using blockchain-based Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) architecture. The system replaces traditional, centralized supply chain management models with a trustless, rule-based ecosystem where all transactions, operations, and governance are managed through smart contracts on a blockchain ledger. In the proposed system, all participants of the supply chain including suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, distributors, and retailers are registered as DAO members. Each operational activity, such as order placement, shipment tracking, quality verification, payment processing, and dispute resolution, is governed by predefined smart contracts that execute automatically based on real-world events and IoT data inputs. A governance layer is incorporated, allowing participants to propose, vote, and implement changes in supply chain policies, vendor selection, and logistics optimization strategies using a token-based voting mechanism. Real-time data from IoT devices such as GPS trackers, temperature monitors, and shock sensors is directly integrated with the blockchain, enabling the system to autonomously verify shipment conditions and trigger appropriate actions such as payment release, penalties, or service ratings. The system also includes a decentralized reputation engine that calculates and updates the trustworthiness of each participant based on their historical performance, contract compliance, and delivery quality. This trust score influences future contract opportunities within the DAO ecosystem. The invention significantly enhances transparency, operational efficiency, and accountability across the supply chain while eliminating the need for centralized intermediaries. It enables real-time visibility, minimizes fraud, automates compliance, and optimizes resource utilization, thereby revolutionizing traditional supply chain management practices through decentralized, intelligent automation."
