MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547058830 A) filed by Panasonic Intellectual Property Corporation Of America, Torrance, U.S.A., on June 19, for 'decoding method, encoding method, decoding device, and encoding device.'
Inventor(s) include Sugio, Toshiyasu.
The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In this decoding method, a determination is made as to whether to perform inter prediction, intra prediction, or no prediction on a node of interest that is included in a unit being encoded (S301), and the determined inter prediction, intra prediction, or no prediction and an inverse hierarchical conversion process are performed on the node of interest to thereby calculate an attribute value of a three-dimensional point included in the unit being encoded (S302). The node of interest has a coefficient generated through a hierarchical conversion process by an encoding device, the attribute value being converted to a coefficient in the hierarchical conversion process, and the coefficient being converted to an attribute value in the inverse hierarchical conversion process."
