MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517053744 A) filed by Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd., Tokyo, on June 3, for 'decorative surface material, decorative member, display system, decorative surface material production method, and decorative member production method.'

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A decorative outer-cover material (40) includes: a first surface (40a); and a second surface (40b) opposite the first surface (40a). The decorative outer-cover material (40) includes, from the first surface (40a) towards the second surface (40b) and in the given order, a design layer (51) and a light-blocking layer (52). The decorative outer-cover material (40) includes recesses (45) which are open in the second surface (40b). The recesses (45) penetrate the light-blocking layer (52) but do not penetrate the design layer (51)."
