Muthukumaran, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on March 24, 2024, for 'design and development of loading and unloading system for light commercial vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Kalaiselvan P; Kiran Vasistha M; Nisanth R; and Dr. V. Muthukumaran.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This study proposes a simple and unique way to optimize freight handling of goods in response to current logistical issues. As urbanization and e-commerce drive demand for efficient logistics, manual methods become inefficient and endanger supply chain efficiency and safety. This mechanism combines automation, safety improvements, and flexibility to a variety of commercial vehicle types. It features an electric motor-driven winch mechanism and a robust platform structure with guide rails, allowing for precision cargo handling while functioning within the vehicle's idle power range. The system is separable and weighs 36kg, so it can be assembled by an average adult. By addressing these difficulties, the solution helps to achieve sustainable development objectives by improving material handling and safety. It helps increase cargo handling efficiency in metropolitan areas, increasing supply chain efficiency in the era of e-commerce boom."
