MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541117844 A) filed by Easwari Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 27, 2025, for 'design and fabrication of autonomous agricultural rover with skip and spray mechanism.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. K. G. Ashok; Prem Kumar R S; Sham I; and Satheesh Kumar S.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the design and development of a compact autonomous agricultural rover capable of performing real-time crop monitoring and precision spraying operations without manual intervention. The system integrates sensors, control modules, and loT connectivity to enhance agricultural automation. and field efficiency, A Raspberry Pi 4 functions as the primary processing unit for executing image-processing and machine learning algorithms, while an Arduino UNO handles motor control and sensor interfacing. An ESP32-CAM module captures plant images for health analysis, and ultrasonic sensor assist in autonomous navigation and obstacle detection. Based on real-time analysis, a relay-controlled DC pump dispenses water, fertilizer, or pesticide through a servooperated spray nozzle. The rover is powered by a 12V battery pack with a buck converter providing regulated 5V supply to electronic components. Integrated with the Blynk loT mobile application and dashboard for monitoring and control, the system offers a low-cost, energy-efficient, and user-friendly solution designed to improve agricultural productivity and reduce manual labor in small and rural farmse."
