MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517074437 A) filed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 5, for 'deterioration determination device and deterioration determination method.'
Inventor(s) include Nishimura Shohei.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A deterioration determination device (1) comprises a corrosion amount acquisition unit (11), a concentration estimation unit (12), and a deterioration determination unit (13). The corrosion amount acquisition unit (11) acquires the decrease in the thickness of a metallic thin film formed using a metallic member which is provided on one of a plurality of substrates of electronic equipment mounted on a railcar and which corrodes upon contact with corrosive gas in an estimation period starting from the time when the railcar starts operation. The concentration estimation unit (12) estimates the concentration of corrosive gas around the railcar on the basis of the relationship between the concentration of corrosive gas and the change in the thickness of the metallic member over time and the decrease in the thickness of the metallic thin film during the estimation period. The deterioration determination unit (13) determines whether or not there are signs of degradation of the substrates in the electronic equipment on the basis of the length of the estimation period and the concentration of corrosive gas."
The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 03, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/013857.
