MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075165 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Aug. 7, for 'determination of beams for transmissions by a ue in initial access.'
Inventor(s) include Cozzo, Carmela; and Papasakellariou, Aristides.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Methods and apparatuses for beam determination in random access in a wireless communication system a method performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a system information block (SIB) indicating a first number of spatial settings, a set of random access channel occasions (ROs), and a set of numbers of repetitions for transmission of a physical random access channel (PRACH). The method further includes determining a number of repetitions, from the set of numbers of repetitions, for the PRACH transmission, a subset of ROs, from the set of ROs, corresponding to the number of repetitions, and a set of spatial settings having a one-to-one association with the subset of ROs based on a mapping between the first number of spatial settings and a number of ROs in the subset of ROs. The method further includes transmitting the PRACH over the subset of ROs using the set of spatial settings."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 09, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/000397.
