MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517004589 A) filed by K18, Inc., San Francisco, on Jan. 20, for 'detox hair and scalp cleanser composition, methods and uses thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a detoxifying hair and scalp cleanser composition for cleansing and repairing hair. The detoxifying hair and scalp cleanser compositions described herein have a pH optimized to cleanse the hair and scalp. The pH of the detoxifying hair and scalp cleanser composition minimizes reduces swelling and protein loss. The detoxifying hair and scalp cleanser compositions described herein comprise peptides, which are based on the structure of keratin and keratin associated proteins. The peptides described bind hair with high affinity and repair keratinous fiber damage through the formation of disulfide bonds and other bonding interactions such as hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, and Van der Waals interactions."
