MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641004942 A) filed by Hindusthan College Of Arts And Science, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 19, for 'development, quality evaluation and standardization of novel star fruit (averrhoa carambola) and pomelo (citrus maxima ) jam using alternative sugars.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The melt and pour is one of the simplest and most accessible meth9ds for creating handcrafted soaps. In the melt and pour process uses a controlled low temperature melting and blending procedure to retain the natur;:tl glycerin and advantages chemicals of organic substances, complies with organic cosmetic requirements is non-toxic, biodegradable and appropriate for sensitive skin. To accomplish aesthetic qualities, the process provides alternate embodiments use different plant extracts, essential oils, and natural colorants. The proposed invention circumvents traditional limitations by providing a rapid, low temperature, additive controlled method for producing a ready to use organic melt and pour soap that maintains transparency or opacity as needed, avoids synthetic ingredients and preserves the moisturizing quality of glycerin. The organic soap has pH between 7.0-8.0, which is free synthetic surfactants and preservatives. The soap retains natural glycerin and antioxidants, skin-safe and hypoallergenic which adaptable to multiple fragrances, colors and properties."
