MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441015742 A) filed by S. Vignesh Kumar, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on March 4, 2024, for 'development of wood products from coconut spathe and leaf petiole.'
Inventor(s) include S. Vignesh Kumar; R. Sambaslvam; N. Jayakumar; A. D. Pradeep; V. D Tamilarasan; M. Madhusuthanan; D. Palaniswamy; and S. Rajkumar.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Since the need of wood in the society is increasing day by day for various applications, cutting the trees and deforestation will not be the correct solution. Since, it will end with global warming and high pollution, this project aims to give a solution for the said problem with help of coconut spathe and spathe fiber."
