MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202344041064 A) filed by Maschinenfabrik Rieter Ag, Winterthur, Switzerland, on June 16, 2023, for 'device for calendering a cotton web.'

Inventor(s) include Schmid, Alexander; and Aerne, Adrian.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a device for calendering a cotton web (1) with two side plates (19) and with a calender roll pair arranged between the side plates (19) and consisting of a first calender roll (3) and a second calender roll (7), wherein the first calender roll (3) is held stationary and rotatable in the side plates (19). The second calender roll (7) is rotatably and eccentrically held at its ends in a respective bearing housing (11), wherein the bearing housings (11) have a bearing housing axis (12) and are rotatably and stationarily held in the side shields (19) about the bearing housing axis (12). A rotation of at least one bearing housing (11) with an actuator (14) is provided to form a clamping line (18) between the second calender roll (7) and the first calender roll (3)."
