MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023993 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'device for highlighting identified texts.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a device for highlighting identified texts, comprising a rectangular shaped hollow extendable body 1 developed to accommodate a highlighter pen within the body 1, an artificial intelligence based image capturing module 2 installed on the body 1 to determine dimension of the pen, plurality of suction cups 3 installed on inner portion of the body 1 for gripping the pen in a secured manner, a sliding unit 4 installed in between the cups 3 and inner portion of the body 1 to pop out the pen from the body 1 for marking the user entered word only and a cushion pad 5 installed on outer portion of the body 1 for allowing the user to grip the body 1 in a comfortable manner."
