MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087867 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'device for loading and unloading cargo from a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Prashant Betgerimath; and Akhilesh Kollipara.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device 200 for loading and unloading cargo in a vehicle includes a set of roller 202 pivotally fixed with seat rails 102 of the vehicle for a rotational movement about corresponding pivot axes 208; and at least one conveyor belt 204 for each of the seat rails 102. The belt 204 can be an endless belt routed around two spaced apart rollers 202 such that an upper portion of the belt 204 projects out of the open upper end of the U-shaped seat rail 102. The rollers 202 are configured with the seat rails 102 such that at least a portion of circumference of the rollers 202 projects out of the upper open end of U-shaped seat rails 102 for the belt to be correspondingly placed above an upper surface of the floor 100, and covered by a carpet 206, when not in use."
