MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517054888 A) filed by Lebo Robotics, Inc., Tokyo, on June 6, for 'device for moving on windmill blade, and control method and control program for said device.'

Inventor(s) include Hamamura, Keitaro; Sugiyama, Yuichi; Murakami, Masayuki; Yashima, Takaaki; Takesue, Koji; Seki, Hiroki; and Kawabata, Hiroto.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A control method for a device for moving on a windmill blade according to the present invention involves measuring the cross-sectional shape of the windmill blade, and controlling the device such that the device behaves according to the cross-sectional shape. The control of the device may include controlling the device such that the device repairs a damaged portion of the windmill blade in accordance with the cross-sectional shape; and the control of the device may include controlling the device such that the device controls the attitude of the device in accordance with the cross-sectional shape."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 15, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/041092.
