MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025973 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'device for protecting a wall while driving a nail into the wall.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for protecting a wall while driving a nail into the wall, comprising a circular base plate 1 having an elongated handle 2 for acquiring a grip onto away from a hammer strike, a motorized iris hole 4 to accommodate nail and hold nail in a target position, a sensing module measures a diameter of the nail to trigger, an annular shock absorber to absorb a force from a misdirected hammer strike, a pneumatic T-shaped rod 5 to inflate or deflate air padding, a robotic arm 6 for protecting user from a flying debris, a proximity sensor detects flying debris, a collector box 7 for collecting debris, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 8 for scanning a motion of hammer, a microphone for receiving audio commands, a laser sensor for measuring dimensions of nail, a pressure sensor for measuring pressure to actuate inflation unit to inflate air padding."
