MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026067 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'device for providing an assistive protective layer for a cook.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for providing an assistive protective layer for a cook comprises of a fabric layer 1 having a loop for attaching to a neck of the cook for having the fabric layer 1 in front of the cook, a shield layer 2 having multiple plates 3 on pairs of sliders 4 for expanding or retracting for protecting the cook from heat, splashing liquid and high temperature, multiple sliding partition plates 3 for creating individual partition for each the kitchen tool, a cooling tube connected to a coolant tank with a pumping unit, for circulating a coolant through the tube for a cooling of the shield layer 2, a sensing module, attached to the shield layer 2, detects the splashing liquid or a temperature an ultrasonic sensor for detecting a splashing liquid, and a moisture sensor 11 for detecting the moisture level on the fabric layer 1."
