MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024901 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'device for twisting a metal strip.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for twisting a metal strip, comprises a rectangular base 1 having four anchor plates 7 at its bottom for fixing on a ground surface, two pair of overlapping sliding C-shaped clamps 8 provided on slider on two ends of the base 1 to grip the metal strip as per a thickness of the strip, telescopic arm with a hinge joint 4 having a gripper 9 at its end, provided on a guide rail on an edge of the base 1 for carrying the metal strip and sliding the strip into the two pair of C-shaped clamps 8, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting the thickness of the metal strip, a proximity sensor for detecting the presence of the metal strip, and a laser sensor for detecting the engagement of the metal strip with the bracket 3 and the completion of the twisting."
