MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311066062 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Oct. 3, 2023, for 'drilling, reaming and tapping fixture for in-situ repair of aircraft jacking point.'
Inventor(s) include Sameer Srivastava; and Salil Sagar.
The application for the patent was published on June 06, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This Fixture is made up of 3 sub-assemblies namely Quadra pod structured base (4), Guide rod (5) and Centering rod unit (6). The Fixture is used to facilitate in-situ repair of jacking point (2) of Dornier 228 aircraft (9) in aircraft frame (3). This invention eliminates the requirement of deriveting and dismantling of fuselage center section (FCS) assembly (8) by carrying out in-situ repair thus saving loss of lifespan and "Aircraft on ground" (AOG) time of aircraft."
