MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441011557 A) filed by Hari Shankar Singhania Elastomer And Tyre Research Institute, Mysusru, Karnataka, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'dual tyre nail puncture and plunger breaking force measuring device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a dual tyre nail puncture and plunger breaking force measuring device comprising a dual tyre nail puncture and plunger breaking force measuring machine (100) further comprising a dual tyre mounting shaft (2), dual nails (8a) or dual plungers (8b) mounted on a dual nail and plunger loading platform (10) having load cells to apply radial load on contact surfaces of a first tyre with rim (4a) and a second tyre with rim (4b), a hydraulic cylinder (12) controlled by a hydraulic power pack (14) and having an integrated displacement sensor configured to measure linear displacement of the contact surfaces of the first tyre with rim (4a) and the second tyre with rim (4b), and a control unit (200) in communication with the integrated displacement sensor and configured to evaluate nail puncture or plunger breaking force and pressure loss of the first tyre with rim (4a) and the second tyre with rim (4b)."
