MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024897 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'earthquake-proof sleeping assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An earthquake-proof sleeping assistive device comprises a cuboidal hollow body 1 installed with a pair of platforms 2 connected with each other, a vibration sensor for detecting vibrations in the ground surface, a pair of motorized hinges 3 for tilting the platfroms away from each other, an inflatable member 4 paired with an air compressor 5, for inflating the member 4 thus preventing any chances of injury to user, a pair of plates 6 via a pair of motorized sliders 7, an oxygen sensor for detecting oxygen level within the body 1, plurality of iris pores 8 configured with the body 1 to open for maintaining appropriate ventilation within body 1, a chamber 9 stored with food for allowing the user to consume food, a temperature sensor for detecting temperature in surroundings and a cushion pad 11 for providing comfort to user."
