MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511131794 A) filed by IIMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 25, 2025, for 'effervescent coffee composition and method for preparing coffee beverage.'
Inventor(s) include Nakul Gupta; Pooja Chaursaria; and Shweta Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present discosure relates to an effervescent coffee composition formulated to produce an instant coffee beverage upon dissolution in hot or cold water. The composition includes coffee extract, an effervescent acid-base system, sweeteners, binding agents, stabilizers, lubricants, and encapsulated aroma oils that preserve volatile coffee notes during processing and storage. The controlled effervescence generated during dissolution produces fine micro-foam resembling espresso crema, while a balanced pH-buffering system prevents excessive sourness and maintains desirable flavor characteristics. The invention further enables incorporation of functional nutraceutical actives, including L-theanine, ginseng, MCT oil powder, vitamins, or botanical adaptogens, to create specialized beverage variants. A method (100) for preparing composition includes low-humidity blending, dry granulation or direct compression, aroma encapsulation, and moisture-protected packaging to ensure product stability. The resulting effervescent coffee tablet provides a portable, residue-free, equipment-free coffee solution with enhanced aroma release and consistent caffeine delivery."
