MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511131793 A) filed by IIMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 25, 2025, for 'effervescent tea composition and method for preparing tea beverage.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an effervescent tea composition and a method (100) for its preparation. The composition includes a tea extract, at least one acidic component, at least one alkali component, at least one sweetener, at least one binding agent, and a lubricant, with optional flavoring agents and herbal actives. The acidic component may include citric acid or malic acid, and the alkali component may include sodium bicarbonate or potassium bicarbonate. The composition may further incorporate sweeteners such as sucrose, fructose, stevia, or sucralose, along with binding agents including polyvinylpyrrolidone, maltodextrin, or microcrystalline cellulose. The method (100) includes steps of dry-blending the tea extract with the acidic and alkali components, granulating the mixture through dry-granulation or direct-compression to obtain free-flowing material, integrating sweetener, binding agent, and lubricant, and compressing the integrated material to form a stable, quick-dissolving effervescent tea composition with maintained aroma quality."
