MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517070317 A) filed by Swimc Llc; and Chevron U.S.A. Inc., Cleveland, U.S.A., on July 23, for 'elastomeric erosion coating system.'

Inventor(s) include Bronk, John M; Polance, Robert; Smith, Doug; Rutigliano, Victoria; Zychowski, Frank D.; Kinter, Mason Michael; Genter, Brock M.; Chaloner-Gill, Benjamin M.; Hillman, Peter V.; and Smith, Steven C.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Coating systems with better erosion resistance than steel on exposure to silica or sand are described herein. The systems include a thermoset resin as a basecoat with a thermoplastic topcoat applied over the basecoat. Optionally, a liquid primer may be applied to the substrate prior to the application of the basecoat. Methods of making and using the coating systems are also described herein."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 30, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/013469.
