MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517011789 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 12, for 'electrode assembly and electrochemical device including same.'
Inventor(s) include Kim, Ki Tae; Lee, Junghoon; Kwon, Soon Kwan; and Han, Suenghoon.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is an electrode assembly comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator. In the electrode assembly, the negative electrode includes lithium metal and is arranged between two notched separators to form a negative electrode structure. The negative electrode structure includes a structure in which a negative electrode structure and a positive electrode are alternately stacked. In the negative electrode structure, the negative electrode is exposed to the outside through a notched region of the separator. The electrode assembly according to an embodiment of the present invention can form a tab without cutting or welding a negative electrode, thus not only improving processability, but also having a stable structure, thereby enhancing the performance of a battery."
The patent application was internationally filed on May 16, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/006646.
