According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an electrode for a lithium secondary battery and a lithium secondary battery comprising same, in which a uniform safety functional layer is included to suppress heat generation or ignition, thereby providing a battery that exhibits excellent charge/discharge characteristics while having excellent stability. The electrode for a lithium secondary battery comprises: a metal current collector; a safety functional layer formed to cover at least a portion of the metal current collector and including a polythiophene-based conductive polymer exhibiting positive temperature coefficient (PTC) characteristics and a thixotrophic agent; and an active material layer including an electrode active material and a conductive material and formed on the metal current collector and the safety functional layer."
