MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517045479 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on May 12, for 'electronic device and method for capturing image of celestial object.'
Inventor(s) include Lee Gyubong; and Choe Jihwan.
The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic device and a method for capturing an image of a celestial object are provided. The method for capturing an image of a celestial object by the electronic device comprises the operations of: displaying a preview image generated through a camera of the electronic device; measuring a location of the electronic device; measuring an azimuth of the electronic device; on the basis of the measured location and the measured azimuth identifying a celestial object corresponding to an image capture direction of the camera of the electronic device; identifying an exposure time of the camera that is configured in order to capture an image of the celestial object; and on the basis of the exposure time displaying on the preview image a GUI for guiding a reference position at which the celestial object is to be represented in the resulting captured image of the celestial object."
