MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517094291 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 30, for 'electronic device comprising magnet assembly.'

Inventor(s) include Park, Junghyung; Kim, Yongyoun; Oh, Chanhee; Jeon, Jeonggoo; Kang, Seunggoo; and Hong, Hyunju.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An electronic device according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first housing; a second housing rotatably connected to the first housing with respect to a folding axis; a display which is disposed on a front surface of the electronic device and in which a partial area is deformed by the rotation of the second housing relative to the first housing; a first magnet disposed in the first housing; and a second magnet disposed in the second housing so as not to correspond to the first magnet when the electronic device is folded, wherein an attractive force acts between the first magnet and second magnet. The first magnet comprises a first boundary surface dividing different poles and inclined at a first angle with respect to the folding axis, and the second magnet comprises a second boundary surface dividing different poles and inclined at a second angle with respect to the folding axis, wherein the first boundary surface and the second boundary surface can face each other."
