MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414089251 A) filed by Otis Elevator Company, Farmington, U.S.A., on Nov. 18, 2024, for 'elevator system and guiding device therefor.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an elevator system and a guiding device for use in an elevator system. The guide device for an elevator system comprises: a bracket; a plurality of rollers mounted onto the bracket; wherein, at least one of the plurality of rollers is mounted onto the bracket through a damping device, the damping device comprising: an oscillating rod, wherein a first end of the oscillating rod is rotatably mounted onto the bracket, a second end of the oscillating rod is provided with a first notch, and the roller is mounted onto the oscillating rod; a guide pin, wherein the guide pin is mounted onto the bracket and passes through the first notch of the oscillating rod; and one or more friction members, mounted onto the oscillating rod and in frictional contact with the guide pin during the oscillation of the oscillating rod. The guide device according to the embodiments of the present invention provides a damping device with a simple structure."
