MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311086072 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 16, 2023, for 'emergency support system in a vehicle and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Susanta Mandal; and Narayankumar Saraf.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An emergency support system in a vehicle and a method thereof, are disclosed. At 302, upon detection of emergency situation, launching of drone is initiated. At 304, the drone gets in dynamic mode, and captures multimedia frames associated with the vehicle and occupants within. Further, the multimedia frames are fed into machine learning (ML) models associated with the learning engine, which categorizes type of support needed. At 306, the drone connects to server to communicate for the support needed. In case of no-network zone, after pre-defined altitude/ height is reached, the drone tries connecting to service providers associated with the type of support needed. Upon failing connecting to the server, the drone retries to communicate with the server after increasing its elevation, until the connection gets established. At 308, the server transmits data to the dynamic distribution group, which eventually shares, at 310, the details with respective service providers."
