MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547096450 A) filed by Panasonic Intellectual Property Corporation Of America, Torrance, U.S.A., on Oct. 7, for 'encoding device, decoding device, encoding method, and decoding method.'

Inventor(s) include Nishi Takahiro.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An encoding device (100) is provided with: a memory (152); and a circuit (151) that can access the memory (152). In operation, the circuit (151) encodes displacement data used for deriving a displacement vector for each of a plurality of vertices included in a three-dimensional mesh, wherein the displacement vector indicates displacement of each vertex from a first position, generated by using a base mesh, the plurality of vertices include a first vertex, a second vertex, and a third vertex, and the displacement data of the first vertex indicates the difference between the displacement vector of the first vertex and a composite vector obtained by combining the displacement vector of the second vertex and the displacement vector of the third vertex."

The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 10, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/014562.
