MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517054229 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on June 5, for 'energy based splitting and combining for probabilistic amplitude shaping based communication.'

Inventor(s) include Liu, Wei; Richardson, Thomas Joseph; Wu, Liangming; Xu, Changlong; Shental, Ori; and Xu, Hao.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter device may receive a plurality of information bits, the plurality of information bits being associated with a set of integers. The transmitter device may perform a first encoding operation on a first integer, of the set of integers, the first encoding operation being associated with an alphabet, a sequence length, and an energy threshold. The transmitter device may perform a second encoding operation on a second integer to generate a prefix subsequence. The transmitter device may perform a third encoding operation on a third integer to generate a postfix subsequence. The transmitter device may generate a symbol sequence based at least in part on the prefix subsequence and the postfix subsequence. The transmitter device may transmit the symbol sequence to convey the plurality of information bits. Numerous other aspects are described."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 31, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/073921.
