MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024669 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'engine number etching/ imprinting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Sohan Lal; and Dr. Satendra Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An engine number etching/ imprinting assistive device, comprising a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a ground surface within a vehicle engine manufacturing assembly line, a touch interactive display panel 2 mapped on body 1 enables a user to give input commands for imprinting engine number on engine of vehicle,artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 mounted on body 1 for selecting location of vehicle engine where engine number is to be imprinted, multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 4 configured underneath body 1 positions body 1 in proximity to engine, a L-shaped telescopic rod 5 arranged on body 1 positions a plate 8 attached with rod 5 over engine, a robotic arm 6 installed on plate 8 positions grinding unit 7 on engine casing,a laser marking unit 9 configured on plate 8 by means of a two-axis lead screw arrangement 10 to etch/ engrave a specific engine number onto user-selected portion of casing."
