MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527066521 A) filed by Ustav, Jr. Mart; and Sidhu, Sachdev, Tartu, Estonia, on July 11, for 'engineered virus-like-particles for targeted capture of membrane proteins.'
Inventor(s) include Ustav, Jr. Mart; and Sidhu, Sachdev.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are engineered virus-like-particles (VLPs) and their use. In the VPLs integral plasma membrane proteins are captured and displayed on the surface of a VLP in a native conformation based on an interaction between a viral scaffolding protein fused to a PDZ domain and a synthetic polypeptide in the cytoplasmatic C-terminal tail of the target membrane protein."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 14, 2023, under International application No.PCT/IB2023/062716.
