MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023559 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'ergonomic hand-resting assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Menakshi Pachori; and Dr. Adithya T.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An ergonomic hand-resting assistive device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface via suction cups 2, a microphone 3 receives voice commands regarding a user desired operation, plurality of curved plates 5 over which a user accommodates fingers, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 determines dimensions of user's fingers, a drawer arrangement integrated in each of plate 5 to extend/retract for increasing dimensions of plate 5 for properly accommodating user's fingers on plates 5, an ultrasonic sensor determines position along with dimensions of user's wrist, an expandable band 6 arranged on the platform 1 by means of a pair of telescopically operated rods 7 for positioning band 6 on wrist for supporting wrist while fingers are accommodated on plates 5, a motorized sliding unit 8 provides forward/backward translation to plates 5."
