MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013318 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'evacuation device for high-rise buildings.'

Inventor(s) include Puneet Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An evacuation device for high-rise buildings comprises of a track 1 developed to be installed at an outer portion of a high-rise building designed for accommodating multiple evacuees, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting a distance between frame 2 and window portion of the evacuee, a sliding unit 6 that is installed in between the rods 5 and track 1 for positioning the frame 2 close to the window portion, a motorized pivot joint 7 embedded in between the rods 5 and frame 2 for providing an angular movement to the frame 2 for aligning the frame 2 with the window potion, a high-powered laser beam projector 8 for projecting a high beam laser over the window in order to break the glass barrier, and an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 9 mounted on the frame 2 to detect presence of injury over the user while evacuating."
