MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441016349 A) filed by Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Siddipet, Telangana, on March 7, 2024, for 'evaluation and standardization of inter specific grafting in momordica charantia l. for yield and quality enhancement.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. B. Neeraja Prabhakar; A. Pranitha; Dr. Veena Joshi; Dr. P. Saidaiah; and Dr. P. Praneeth.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to methods for the cultivation of bitter gourd plants and especially to methods for the production of bitter gourd fruits. The invention provides a method to enhance the yield and quality of Momordica charantia L. (bitter gourd). The method comprising the steps of standardization of grafting of various cucurbitaceous rootstock with bitter gourd scion, anatomical and histological studies of graft compatibility and evaluation of bitter gourd grafts for yield and quality characters of bitter gourd fruits."
