MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065823 A) filed by Tenneco Gmbh, Edenkoben, Germany, on July 10, for 'exhaust gas mixer and annular diaphragm.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an exhaust gas mixer (10) having an exhaust gas pipe 1 with a central axis (1.1) and an exhaust gas pipe wall (1.2) for guiding exhaust gas, comprising a mixer element (2) which is placed in the exhaust gas pipe (1) and has a width_Mlb and an outlet cross-section_QM, said exhaust gas pipe wall (1.2) together with the mixer element (2) delimiting a gap (3) with a width_Sb in which exhaust gas can be guided. A diaphragm (4) downstream of the mixer element (2) has a diaphragm edge (4.1) arranged at least indirectly in the exhaust gas pipe (1) and at least one diaphragm opening (4.2) which is enclosed by the diaphragm edge (4.1), and the exhaust gas pipe wall (1.2) delimits a flow cross-section_Q1 for exhaust gas, wherein a) the at least one diaphragm opening (4.2) has a total flow cross-section_QB, where 0.5 Q1 = QB = 0.9 Q1 or 0.8 QM = QB = 1.2 QM, or b) the diaphragm (4) has a diaphragm wall (4.8) downstream of the diaphragm opening (4.2), having a perforation (4.7) with a total flow cross-section_QW, where 0.5 Q1= QW = 0.9 Q1 or 0.8 QM = QW = 1.2 QM."
