The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a method for hands-free text input using eye-controlled virtual keyboard interaction. The method includes capturing video frames of a user's face using a video capture device, processing the video frames to detect eye position and eye state from facial landmarks, determining gaze direction from the detected eye position, and detecting blink events from the detected eye state. The method further includes displaying a virtual keyboard interface with selectable keys, highlighting keys on the virtual keyboard based on the determined gaze direction, and generating character input when blink events are detected corresponding to highlighted keys. The system utilizes standard webcam hardware and computer vision algorithms to enable individuals with severe physical disabilities to interact with digital devices through natural eye movements and intentional blinking patterns, eliminating the need for traditional input devices such as keyboards and mice."
