Inventor(s) include Kaviya Dharshini M; Kamali T; Raja Surya R; Archana J; Muthukumaravel K; Praveen Kumar D; and Madhanraj A.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Refrigerators and air conditioners are The major emitters of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which causes serious damage to the ozone layer of the atmosphere. Our project aims to design and develop a solar powered mini-storage structure unit using AgTo waste. In this work, we are using a 100% natural cooling method (convection cooling and evaporation cooling), So we can reduce both the use of electricity consumption and hazardous gas emissions from the storage system. The materials used for construction of mini - storage structures are clay and agro wastes (coir pith and banana fibre), both having good water holding capacity and low thermal conductivity and also gives mechanical strength to the structure. Thus it acts as an environmental friendly method of improving the indoor thermal conditions. Hence the storage system will maintain the freshness of the vegetables without the use of chemicals. Through this we can store up-to 5 kg of fruits and vegetables and will achieve the storage temperature of below 10 Degree Celsius. On top of the storage cabin, a water storage tank is constructed where we can store 5 litres of water which is used for cooling purposes. To analyse and monitor the storage temperature and humidity, sensors are used. Those sensors and fans are connected and controlled through 101'. The overall outcome of the project is to analyse the number of days we can store the vegetables without any spoilage and achieve effective cooling. This storage structure is portable, thus making it easy for temporary and place to place storage."
